A walk
13:29:34 MST on Thursday June 28 2007 #About noon, I'm walking down the hill to top pot to get a coffee. It's in the low 70s, warm, and raining in that way that you can almost walk in between the rain drops. I'm listening to the new Bebel Gilberto (it's excellent! Go buy it). Basically a good day.
And then I come around the corner to large men, gesticulating wildly, in front of their landscaping truck. They appear to be arguing about weather the rose bush in front of them was perfect for this spot - or if it went beyond that to being perfect for Seattle. In any case we had to very large men covered in dirt, arguing about plantings, flowers and perfection. And clearly loving their job. This is not something you see every day.
I was smiling all the way down the hill.
