Ginger Beer Recipe

  • 1c brown sugar,
  • 3/4 c white
  • microplaned ginger, 1 large head ,
  • cream of tartar, 1 ounce; (for heft, works with out)
  • boiling water, 8 cups.

Mix and cover them up close for one hour, then add:

  • 15 drops - essence of lemon
  • 2 spoonfuls - yeast

Strain, bottle in plastic soda bottles.

Let brew 24-48 hours or until the bottles are well pressurized.

Serve with lime.


Spicing that works - well:

  • 1 clove
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 dash regans orange bitters
  • Pequin pepper
