Napier

Today is being spent in Napier. We started the day out with a nice hot breakfast at a local cafe, followed by a walking tour of the Art Deco buildings in central Napier. Due to a 7.9 richter scale earthquake in 1931, most of Napier's CBD is completely Art Deco, and it's one of the best collections of Art Deco in the world. Great fun.

We followed this with a trip to the National Aquarium - which was at best OK -- though It did have a Kiwi in a night room (as they are nocturnal).

Then it was off to the Church Road Winery for a nice lunch - off of an antipasto plate, and a wine tasting.

So far an excellent day!
